There was trouble on Facebook today when many users
experienced loading errors when they attempted to view their profiles and other
pages. As users continued to try to load the pages an error message would
appear stating, “Please try again”. This left many user frustrated as this
vague message continued to appear after multiple attempts of trying to load the
page over and over again. It didn’t take long before users started logging on
to their Twitter accounts to vent about issue happening on Facebook.
Facebook officials solved the issue very quickly. A
spokesman for Facebook released a statement today at 1:00pm Eastern Time saying
"Earlier
today, we experienced an issue that prevented some people from loading Timeline
or Pages content for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and
content is back to normal. We're sorry for any inconvenience we may have
caused."
I believe Facebook solved this issue quickly and effectively. It
was funny to see how people began tweet about the issue on Facebook over
Twitter, arguably Facebook’s biggest competition. The issue that Facebook had
today was unfortunate but I’m sure officials will not have to worry about
losing users over it. On the flipside it looks great for Twitter, which may now
look better from a technical standpoint.
