As you may or may not know, a week ago on Friday, March 7th, a Malaysian Airplane went missing like an episode from Lost. The Boeing 777, Flight 370, was carrying 239 passengers and 2 pilots, when it went "dark" over the Gulf of Thailand. The outcry of family and friends of the passengers has been minuscule compared to the overwhelming support and confusion of people around the globe.
To help find this plane crowdsourcing has become the number one help in finding wreckage, life rafts and other debris in the Gulf of Thailand. A organization called, "Tomnod," has been sending live pictures of the Gulf of Thailand with their numerous satellites, allowing people around the globe to study the pictures and locate this missing aircraft. The story (http://cnn.it/story) has been blowing up around the world and has been the top and most updated new story on CNN. The conspiracy theories around the missing airplane have ranged from UFOs to meteor strikings, all ridiculous but all have as equal a chance of being correct. I personally like the meteor theory, but that's just due to the outlandish fashion of the conspiracy...that sounds a little redundant. Either way, if you'd like to help find the missing craft during another one of our snow days, here is the link to the crowdsourcing website to find Flight 370: http://tomnod.com
I'll be monitoring this story, it seems so strange that the plane could just vanish like that. I think it's incredible that there's an organization dedicated to finding it though. I actually haven't heard a whole lot about this story. When the plane "went dark" did it just simply vanish? Or were they able to communicate anything to anyone before they disappeared?
