Flappy Bird Will Fly Again

http://mashable.com/2014/03/20/flappy-bird-launch-again/

Dong Nguyen, creator of Flappy Bird, is bringing the game back soon after he randomly removed it from the Google Play store not too long ago.  The game brought in $50,000 a day, but he couldn’t handle the stress when the game got popular.  This week, Nguyen came back to social media announcing that the game will come back “better” than ever.  He took to Twitter to respond to game lovers questions about the game.  Although he didn’t give fans a date for the new game release, he said it’s returning, but not soon.  More specifically he told one twitter user, “I don’t work by plan.  I will release it when it is done.”  In his new game, he told Rolling Stone, he will provide gamers with a warning to “please take a break” because of the frustration that comes with it.

In my opinion I don’t know if bringing back the game is a good idea for him.  If he couldn’t handle the stress the first time around, will he be able to handle it this next time?  He received death threats and considered committing suicide.  For his own personal health, it’s not worth the stress and depression over a smartphone game.

  1. Well this is disappointing the Flappy Bird craze has kind of passed so I'm hoping it doesn't come back honestly because Flappy Bird dominated everything and was kind of annoying in my opinion

  2. Yes!!! I love the game and fills my free time with joy and hate intertwined. I'm glad Nguyen came to his senses and will accept $50,000 a day again, if all goes well. I'm excited to see the improvements but now the price of my "Flappy Bird downloaded iPhone" on eBay will dwindle!

  3. "He couldn't handle the stress when the game got popular." Excuse me? Haha I think that is ridiculous because the goal of any app designer is to create a very popular game. And I'm sure $50,000 a day would make life easier, in my opinion. As for bringing the game back, I'm all for it. It's fun to play in your spare time and if some people let it take over their lives, then it's their fault. After all, it's just a phone game...

  4. Great news! I actually did not even download the app the first time around because of how frustrating it was to me. However, if it is true that they made improvements, I'm all for trying it out. I'm definitely not concerned with Mr. Nguyen's stress, considering he knows what he is getting himself into and he is making more than enough money for the app.

  5. I was thinking when this happened it could be the best PR stunt ever.
Become all the talk of the media by taking away your game, and then come back out with a game that he's actually been working hard on as years and use Flappy Bird publicity as a starting point for getting his new game in the news.

If this was all planned, the man is a genius. He just better deliver and not play games this time, no pun intended.
