Mom, Dad Come Quick!! I'm on Google!!
Super search engine, Google, has announced earlier starting November 11th the company will be allowed to use an adult user's profile, and name in an advertisement or review.
The idea is to generate the sense of credibility and easily capture the readers attention recognizing someone they may know in an advertisement or review. Users will be given the opportunity to opt out of the program, and will only target 18 year old adults.
This has been a reoccurring theme with social media. Instagram had the same idea, taking user generated content, and using it in advertisements. The question at hand is isn't this a little invasive?
Everyone is on high alert after recent events with the National Security Agency. I do not believe anyone has the right to peek into my things even if I have nothing to hide. Same rules apply for the web and social media.
I really do love using Twitter, and Facebook isn't half bad either. However, both are doing very well and I think they can find other ways to make money. Just let us use tool in peace.
