As of late, T-Mobile has stepped up in upgrading its customer service plan abroad. Normally, customers of all cell phone providers have been charging $100 for the use of cell phones abroad. This has been an issue for customers because this has caused them to keep their cell phones off during their trip. T-Mobile chief executive John Legere said in an interview "travelers had long been shocked by exorbitant cellphone bills after they have traveled, so many people not just leave their phones off."(John Legere, NY Times) This is something he dearly wants to change to benefit the customer, and give them a chance to use their cell phone without any fear of a large bill.
This new service plan will allow customers to make voice calls with a charge of 20 cents per minute, and will provide unlimited texting and data use. T-Mobile customers will automatically be enrolled in the free-roaming agreement on October 31st. This service plan will be applied to 100 countries including France, Spain, China, Japan and Russia.
This new plan is a big step for T-Mobile, and will improve their customer satisfaction rating. People will see T-Mobiles big improvement to help customers save money, and this will benefit T-Mobiles future business. This decision is going to cause other cell phone providers to become nervous and fear that T-Mobile will take their future business. This is going to cause alot of competition between all networks and will especially cause T-Mobile to stick out more than the others.
